Meet Teacher Shamile
Shamile Childs holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership and has over 12 years of experience in education. Beginning as a substitute teacher, she joined Teach for America in 2014, launching a diverse career teaching K-5 and serving as a Phonological Awareness Literacy Teacher, Early Literacy Specialist & Coach, and Assistant Principal.
Certified in multiple states, she has taught in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Florida. As a military spouse, Shamile connects with students from various backgrounds and has a proven track record of helping them succeed in state exams. Passionate about developing reading and writing skills, she fosters a love for learning by providing engaging lessons & building students' confidence.
Our Mission
By the end of 3rd grade, more than 67% of children in the United States are not proficient readers, and 80% of those children come from low-income families. Reading Pro Virtual Learning is on a mission to increase reading proficiency while cultivating a love for reading, one child at a time, by providing explicit, systematic, targeted, and engaging literacy instruction.
